Dayton Hudson and Marshall Field's Bridal Registry
Dayton Hudson was one of the early adopters of Gift RegistryWorks and CatalogWorks. MarCole installed systems in Dayton's, Hudson's and Marshall Field's Department Stores in October of 1993. The fully transactional systems interfaced with Dayton Hudson's central server for price look-up, inventory availability and reservation, order processing and fulfillment, credit card transaction and sales posting.

"An interactive system is the natural progression for our existing computerized gift registry." Says Susan Boren, Senior Vice President, Customer Development/Direct Response for the Department Store Division of Dayton Hudson Corporation. "We can now offer our customers a convenient, comprehensive and exciting new way to send gifts and shop for themselves from one of the country's largest tabletop assortments."

The tabletop electronic catalog presented over 20,000 special order items and enabled Dayton's, Hudson's and Marshall Field's stores to triple the number of brands that they were able to show customers. Registration and sales of special order accessory items, not normally available to view in the store, increased by 80%.
