A Decade of Gift Registry Innovation Continues
WALNUT CREEK, CA. MarCole Interactive Systems, the leading provider of gift registry solutions for retailers - will introduce Version 6.0 of Gift RegistryWorks at the National Retail Federation (NRF) Big Show, in New York, January 16 to 19, 2005 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center.

Gift RegistryWork was first introduced over 10 years ago. It is a platform independent, scaleable and modular gift registry solution for in-store and web-based deployment. It features a multilingual user interface and supports any number of registry occasions including weddings, commitment ceremonies, anniversaries, housewarmings, new baby, birthday, home remodel, charity and general purpose wish lists and more. It can be seamlessly integrated with a retailers existing POS, back office and ecommerce systems.

Significant enhancements in Version 6 include:

• Migration of the administrative registry manager module from a Windows application to a platform independent J2EE application.
• Improved features and functionality for loading and maintaining retailer product information; including the ability to create retailer defined grouping or collections comprised of multiple SKU's. For example: an assemble of kitchen utensils, matched place mats and napkins, or a BBQ accessories and cookbook kit.
• Advanced item search capability, making it easier to find and select items when adding them to a registry on-line.
• Database performance enhancements, resulting in faster registry retrieval.
• Enhanced user permissions, facilitating varied levels of administrative authority.

In conjunction with the release of Version 6, MarCole is concurrently introducing the worlds first gift registry incorporating a barcode scanner enabled portable data terminal, which will enable customers to set-up a registry profile on a handheld computer, that can immediately be used to scan and add items to the registry.

This is not the first time MarCole pioneered new gift registry technology. The company was the very first to incorporate product images into gift registry applications and it was one of the first to integrate scanners with gift registry and offer an off-the-shelf, customizable multi-channel gift registry solution.

In addition to the Enterprise Edition of Gift RegistryWorks for chain stores - the company offers an Independent Retailer Edition for retailers with one to ten stores, and a Gift Registry Software Development Kit (SDK).
