This kit contains the API's and documentation that enable retailers to leverage their internal resources and save outsourcing costs - while still implementing a leading-edge solution built on a stable platform that can grow with their business. DataWorks is a tool specifically designed to work with CatalogWorks and Gift RegistryWorks. It makes it easy to organize, categorize, and enhance product information / images in a web-ready customer friendly manner. DataWorks enables non-technical retail personnel to gain control over what the customer sees, and to manage item information and images in one central location for use on self-service in-store systems and the Internet. Additionally, it facilitates merchandising products with complete, easy-to-understand-detailed descriptions and makes it easy to link multiple images (from anywhere on the web) that highlight the products unique features. It also allows items to be grouped in appropriate collections organized by department, category, sub-category and brand. Finally it facilitates managing swatches - allowing customers to create, add, delete, activate and deactivate individual and groups of color/material swatches - all with an easy to use intuitive web-based interface.

> Software As A Service (SAAS)
MarCole offers Gift RegistryWorks and CatalogWorks as a traditionally licensed or as a hosted solution. From a functionality standpoint both options are nearly identical. The pricing models, and in some cases the degree of customization available, are the differentiating factors.
Licensed applications require a larger initial investment to acquire the perpetual right to run the selected application(s) on customer or third party hardware, at a location of the customers' choice. The system engine, Graphical User Interfaces (GUI's) utilities and right to use them in a specified number of stores are licensed individually. On-going software maintenance is available and contracted for annually. MarCole hosts Gift RegistryWorks and CatalogWorks in a secure IBM co-location facility in the Silicon Valley.
